Staff
Until his appointment at North Augusta, he served as Director of Bands at Silver Bluff High School since 1991. Under his direction, the Silver Bluff Bands received State and National acclaim. His bands have been named Lower State and State Marching Band Champions, received straight Superior Ratings in Class V at the State Concert Band Festival, recipient of the Outstanding Performance Award, a featured performing ensemble at the South Carolina Music Educators Conference, 1994 Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade, the 73rd Annual Macy*s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1999, 2002 Bands of America Class A Florida Regional Champions, and attended the Bands of America Grand Nationals in 2003. Chuck was named the Silver Bluff Teacher of the Year in 1997. He has served the South Carolina Band Directors Association on various committees, and is currently the Region 2 Chairperson. Chuck also serves as arranger and consultant for several South Carolina and Georgia bands. He is a member of MENC, SCBDA, ACBDA and ASBDA, who honored him as their recipient of the Distinguished Young Band Directors Award in 1994. Terry Jenkins has been employed as a band director at North Augusta Middle School for the past twenty four years. Her first year of teaching was spent at LBC High School and Jefferson Jr. High School teaching band to grades seven through twelve. She also participated as a faculty member in the Aiken County GATEWAY program (Gifted and Talented Education with Artistic Youth) for four summers.
During her twenty-five years of teaching, she has held memberships in the
following organizations: MENC (Music Educator's National Conference)
, SCMEA (South Carolina Music Educator's Association) , SCBDA (South
Carolina Band Director's Association) where she also participated on
the Award's Committee, Concert Festival Committee, and All-State
Committee She also served as chairperson of the Award's Committee
where she was also a member of the SCBDA executive board. In
addition, she served as chairperson of the Western Region Band and
the Southern Region Band for several years. She is also a member
SCAAE (South Carolina Alliance for Arts Education) and the SCAA
(South Carolina Arts Alliance). She has been a member of the Aiken
County Band Director's Association since it's inception and has held
the following offices throughout the years, president, vice
president, secretary, and publicity chairperson. She was a member of
ASBDA American School Band Director's Association) and NBA (National
Band Association). Ms. Jenkins is a product of the North Augusta Band Program. She has lived in North Augusta all her life and graduated from North Augusta High School in 1974. Her former junior high and high school directors include: Richard Brasco (who she also taught with beginning in 1980) and Joe Wilson. Ms. Jenkins received a Bachelor of Music Education Degree (B.M.E.) from the University of South Carolina in 1978, and has done post-graduate work at Coastal Carolina University; Converse College, Ohio State University , and the University of South Carolina. Ms. Jenkins has three times been chosen as "Teacher of the Year" by her peers at North Augusta Middle School (2002-03, 1994-95, and 1986-87). In 2002, as "Teacher of the Year", she was named to the District's Honor Council. She was also named to "Who's Who Among American Teachers" in 2002. In 1987 and 1991, the North Augusta Middle School band participated as a "Featured Performing Ensemble" at the SCMEA In-Service Conference in Greenville, SC. Her bands consistently receive superior and excellent ratings at festival and have thirteen times received the SCBDA "Outstanding Performance Award". Ms. Jenkins has also served as a clinician and adjudicator in South Carolina and Georgia.

Jenkins takes care of her dad, and is mom to two dogs, Prissy and
Maggie.
Josh Workman - Musical Director, Paul Knox Middle School Mr. Josh Workman attended the Gilbert Schools where he was an active Trumpeter in the band. He holds a BME degree from the University of South Carolina and continued his education at Florida State University where he recently graduated with Honors, earning his Masters in Trumpet Performance. Mr. Workman has taught throughout his collegiate career with experiences in SC and Florida. He has four years of DCI (Drum Corps) marching experience with both the Carolina Drum Corps and the 10 time DCI Champions, The Cadets of Bergen County. In his spare time, Mr. Workman relaxes to music, mountain bikes, water
skis and loves to travel. |
